1. About CanvasForTutors
CanvasForTutors is a collaborative online whiteboard designed for tutors, teachers and students. These Terms govern your use of CanvasForTutors and related services.
2. Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an account, accessing CanvasForTutors or using a shared CanvasForTutors board, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the service.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity carried out through your account. Information provided when creating an account should be accurate and kept up to date where appropriate.
4. Acceptable use
CanvasForTutors must not be used for unlawful, abusive, fraudulent or harmful activity. Users must not attempt to interfere with the operation, security or availability of the service, access another user's private data without permission, or use CanvasForTutors to distribute malicious content.
5. Educational use
Tutors, teachers, schools and organisations are responsible for ensuring that their use of CanvasForTutors is appropriate for their learners and complies with relevant safeguarding, privacy and educational requirements.
6. Student sharing links
Tutors may create links that allow students or other users to access a board. The tutor controls whether a shared board is view-only or editable. Users are responsible for sharing these links only with appropriate recipients.
7. User content
You retain responsibility for content you upload or create on CanvasForTutors. You must have the right to use and share any content placed on the service. You should not upload confidential, sensitive or copyrighted material unless you are authorised to do so.
8. Service availability
CanvasForTutors is provided on an evolving basis. Features may be added, changed or removed as the platform develops. While reasonable efforts are made to keep the service available, uninterrupted or error-free operation cannot be guaranteed.
9. Free and paid plans
CanvasForTutors may offer free, paid and organisational plans. Features, usage limits and pricing may vary between plans and may change over time. Any applicable charges will be shown before a user purchases a paid plan.
10. Payments
Where paid subscriptions or licences are offered, payments may be processed through third-party payment providers. Users are responsible for any charges associated with the plan they select.
11. Cancellation and plan changes
Users may cancel paid plans according to the cancellation options made available through CanvasForTutors or its payment provider. Access to paid features may continue until the end of the current billing period unless otherwise stated.
12. Intellectual property
CanvasForTutors, its branding, software, interface and original platform features are protected by applicable intellectual property rights. These Terms do not transfer ownership of the CanvasForTutors platform to users.
13. Third-party services
CanvasForTutors relies on third-party services for parts of its infrastructure, including hosting, authentication, databases, analytics and potentially payment processing. CanvasForTutors is not responsible for outages or failures caused by third-party providers beyond reasonable control.
14. Limitation of liability
CanvasForTutors is provided as a teaching and collaboration tool. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CanvasForTutors is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service, loss of lesson content, service interruption or reliance on material created within CanvasForTutors.
15. Termination
Access may be suspended or terminated where these Terms are materially breached, where use presents a security risk, or where continued access would be unlawful.
16. Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated as CanvasForTutors develops. Updated Terms will be published on this page with a revised effective date.
17. Governing law
These Terms are intended to be governed by the laws applicable to the business operating CanvasForTutors, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that apply in the user's location.
